WORKERS’ COMPENSATION JOB PLACEMENT SPECIALIST

 

Coordinates Labor Market Surveys.  Contacts potential employers either in person or by telephone to find jobs that are within the claimant’s limitations.  Emphasis is placed on transferable skills and positive work history.

 

Coordinates with physicians to determine current physical limitations to assure that claimant is place in appropriate employment.

 

Arranges for specialized retraining, when it is appropriate and will lead to employment.

Prepares résumés and assists in completing employment applications when necessary.  Counsels Claimants on successful interview techniques and appropriate employer follow up.

 

Maintains detailed activity file on each claimant and reports on a regular basis to our clients.

From 1988 until December 1992 worked as an employment consultant on a contract basis. Conducted job searches, worked with claimants in finding suitable employment.  Also maintained a list of potential employers that were receptive to hiring employees with physical limitations and contacted them on a regular basis.  Joined firm in January 1993 on a permanent/full-time basis as a Job Placement Specialist and perform all the duties listed above, as well as assessing jobs.

 

The Collection Agency – Richmond, Virginia                                              1985 to 1992

Started with the firm as the Marketing Representative and was promoted to Assistant Manager in charge of all personnel procedures.  Wrote job descriptions and maintained Policy Manual.  Maintained personnel files.  Conducted interviews, checked references, and tested potential employees.  Regular attendance at employment seminars to stay abreast of current state and federal regulations.

Marketing Representative.  Established insurance market for the purpose of selling replacement commercial, residential and automotive glass.
